I made a #15for15 playlist of my favorite 15 songs from 2015! I’m willing to wager that this is the only best of 2015 playlist you’ll find that segues from Drake to Chelsea Wolfe. Check it out here, and submit your own #15for15 here!
Chris Brown doesn’t think Rihanna or Karrueche can do better than him. Please see a helpful flowchart below.
I recently took over as the Music Editor of BUST Magazine, which is proving to be an amazing gig! Today I posted an interview I got to do with Orenda Fink about her new album; we talked about Jungian dream therapy, sexism she faced in Azure Ray, and what losing her dog taught her. It was one of my favorite interviews that I’ve ever done and actually made me cry, which was extremely professional.
The only downside to this job is that I hear way too much good music for us to ever be able to cover.
I know. That is not an actual problem.
The point is, I’ll be sharing some tunes. In no particular order, here are some things I’ve been listening to this week:
“I think it was that Kendrick boy,” said local eccentric Mrs. Moody, a beekeeper who can often be found wandering the shores of Lake Silence, and a fan of the song, “Summertime Sadness”. “One time I saw him drive his Thunderbird down to the White Horse Gentlemen’s Club with another woman in the front seat. She looked just like Elizabeth, but she had shocking red hair. It was a strange thing. A strange, strange thing.”

Not to be a big cornball, but it is one of the cooler things in my life that I get to contribute music reviews to my favorite magazine. BUST ‘s summer music issue is out now, and it’s terrific. Dolly Parton is on the cover. She opens her interview with, “What better person to do BUST magazine than me?” Dead. Plus, there’s interviews with Lizzo, Mary Lambert, and tUnE-yArDs, a travel piece on Detroit, a report on a Ghanian witch camp, and a two-page ad for a vape. I can’t wait to read it from cover to cover.
Oh, and I was lucky enough to review THREE new records for the issue! I gotta say, not one disappointed. You can pick up the issue on your local newstand or subscribe at Bust.com.
“I never really even realized that I was a girl. I mean, I knew I was a girl, but I was never told that I couldn’t do something because of my vagina. The possibilities were endless.”
– Brody Dalle, BUST.com
I got to interview the incomparable Ms. Brody motherfucking Dalle for BUST. Her new record Diploid Love out today, and it’s awesome. Check it out.
